Challenges in spatial standardization

The Chairman referred from meeting for ISO Chairmen in Geneva this summer.

In ISO/IEC JTC 1 there is a discussion of inviting companies to participate directly in projects, including voting, up to the DIS stage. A proposal for a trial within som subcommittees is out for voting.

Dr. Cliff Kottman gave a presentation of 12 work items to be presented to ISO/TC 211 by OGC.

Location based services

A presentation was given by Dr. Cliff Kottman.

Presentation of ISO WI 19116 by Dr. Thad Mauney.

Establishment of an Advisory Group for Location Based Services by ISO/TC 211, chairman Mr. John Rowley. Members of ISO/TC 211 encouraged to participate, particularly mentioned: Members of JSG. Refer ISO/TC 211 resolution 142.

From JSG, in addition to Mr. Rowley, Dr. Cliff Kottman, Dr. Thad Mauney and Mr. Henry Tom will participate. Others?
